that's a joy to watch. thanks.

i couldn't help but notice this dumb comment on youtube:
"Garcia almost looks´╗┐ as happy as when he played with the Grateful Dead"

umm, jerry was usually happiest when playing in side projects such as this. youtube is the best source for inaccurate comments about music.

agreed, some of the 'discussions' at youtube (and elsewhere on the www) make me a) very scared for the direction of the planet, and b) realize that even the most troll-like activity exhibited here is a field of softly blowing flowers in comparison

Arb -

If I may be so bold as to offer a suggestion - read "The Fourth Turning" by William Strauss and Neil Howe and realize that this very same You Tube generation you, I and others bemoan, is the one that is supposedly the generation to lead us out of the next major cyclical societal crisis.

That should make you really scared....

Ever since humanity progressed beyond incomprehensible grunts (and some still aren't too far beyond that stage) the vast majority have been spouting ill-informed crap about subjects they barely understand. The only difference today is that the vast armies of the semi-literate and prejudiced have access to equipment that allows them to broadcast their crap far beyond the thick ears of the boys in the barroom or their buddies hanging out by the lockers. They have always been with us - it's just that now they have cybermegaphones and are harder to ignore. Me, cynical?

in truth, i'm not overly concerned with the illiterate hoards of humanity who are now more 'visible', rather, it's the literate few, who spout 'ill-informed crap about subjects they barely understand', and who likewise have access to avenues and positions of power and influence, i.e., the same group of fools who have always been pulling the strings, back-slapping their buddies, lining their pockets, and crapping all over my planet

not only a cynic, but a skeptic as well (me, i mean)

hey there, check your msgs.

you have to remind yourself that the majority of people that leave comments on youtube are barely in high school, if in school at all.
